In this work, created with the oil on canvas technique and measuring 40x50 cm, Maestro Raffaele Ciotola addresses the drama of persecution with a visionary force of rare intensity. The focal point of the composition is a Christological iconography which, placed in a context of universal suffering, becomes a direct witness to human oppression.
Particularly harrowing is the central detail: behind the nets, the Maestro outlines the silent presence of gay prisoners, victims of a holocaust that continues through time. The compositional choice of superimposing the sacred figure onto this imprisoned multitude elevates the work into a cry of denunciation against homophobia and every form of segregation. Maestro Ciotola thus transforms the canvas into an altar of memory, where the warning "Do this in memory of me" is not just a spiritual reference, but a call to social and civil action. With a skillful technique that plays on the contrasts between the light of the central figure and the claustrophobic darkness of the nets, the artist questions the observer's conscience, once again confirming the urgency and depth of his Stop Homoph Art.
